2.2 L engine same as a Saturn?

My friend has a Saturn 1995,
and I have a Cavalier 1999.

Is it the same engine?
And if so, are things like starter etc. swappable?
alternator? Any help will be appreciated.

Ok I guess this was a dumb question, because neither of the two photos I have of Saturn engines look like mine.


Simple 4 cyl. engine (single OVHC?)

In fact, one is apparently a different "litre" size entirely,
and the other is a dual overhead cam.
I think my 2.2 L is just a single OV Cam.

But since posting this I found out that the Saturn (1995) was originally marketed as an actual GM, even though apparently the company was separate (leaving me confused):

Did the Saturn ever have a 2.2. L engine?

And assuming many (most?) of the parts are still GM parts, are some of them at least interchangeable with my Cavalier?
