Porsche 997 GT3 RSRJedi801 12-08-2011, 03:37 PM Is Profil24 the only company making a kit of this car? I saw this kit on ebay and wanted it badly, but that is way too much money for a kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Profil24-1-24-Porsche-997-Flying-81-Le-Mans-2011-Studio-27-Tamiya-Top-Studio-/260895647578?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbe97a75a#ht_4254wt_1163 I know it is a limited run, but $300 for a model car is crazy talk. jaykay640 12-08-2011, 04:06 PM Here's one for less from France: ebay Item number: 390354371635 You may even find them cheaper at other online stores. Then there's a chance someone may still produce a transkit ( for less $ ) for the Fujimi 911 GT3 RS. There were plans at least :-) eyckles 12-08-2011, 05:07 PM I want the decals from that kit. Does anybody know where i can find them? Lesley Jedi801 12-08-2011, 05:33 PM this thread has some good info in it. Would the slot car body be very hard to make fit on the Fujimi chassis? http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1060966&highlight=gt3r ffreak 12-09-2011, 10:13 AM My good friend Kevin at StradaSports has them listed at a reasonable price. http://www.stradasportsstore.com/page11.html Il dottore 12-09-2011, 11:18 AM I want the decals from that kit. Does anybody know where i can find them? Lesley Yes, mail profil 24 and ask if you can buy a set. lovegt40 12-09-2011, 05:26 PM try, even if I suspect I read the ceased the production of that article because they ended the cartograf decal sheet. U may also try obtain the 997 RSR using the scaleauto slot body and fitting it over the fujimi kit.The fits is nearly perfect, only u have to change rims (imho they are horrible in fujimi box).scaleauto is for 25 euros on ebay. Decaldoc makes a good alternative for the flying lizard cars printed in alps. The Carrera RSR seems to have the best RSR body and fits on the Fujimi chassis very well Carrera body with Fujimi chassis http://www.scaleproduction.de/htmlbilder/bilder/101_9714.jpg http://www.scaleproduction.de/htmlbilder/bilder/101_9715.jpg Scale Auto RSR / Fujimi GT3R http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b258/hirofkd/GT3R_Miku/gt3comp2.jpg http://www.ebay.de/itm/2-Rohkarosserien-Carrera-1-24-Aston-Martin-Porsche-911-GT3-RSR-/290640868724?pt=Rennbahnen_und_Slotcars&hash=item43ab8bb574 Mike lovegt40 12-10-2011, 03:43 AM here it is Scaleauto body vs Fujimi body.I suggest this choiche only cause is much cheaper than but a complete slotracer.Down here in I cant find the carrera body alone.Have to buy the complete car. U only have to open the bonnet air intake. http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/167/600x600/84/SDC17402.JPG?et=OautTWVpheca97Pjk2bOjw&nmid=436786514 sportracer02 12-10-2011, 06:47 AM Scale Auto RSR / Fujimi GT3R http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b258/hirofkd/GT3R_Miku/gt3comp2.jpg This photo shows it all, the Scale Auto RSR is out of dimensions lovegt40 12-10-2011, 10:24 AM as well as the profil 24 is then. http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/135/600x600/5/SDC13682.JPG?et=MA5tuLpks0829hECNped1A&nmid=370224394 http://multiply.com/mu/alsoldatino/image/1:soldatino/photos/135/600x600/2/SDC13679.JPG?et=a5Erpon42WjD9QFDCuxsTQ&nmid=370224394 ..that seems definitely too small. I still think is the overall look of the model and its setup with wheels that have to be convincing. http://soldatino.multiply.com/photos/album/135/Comparazione_Porsche_997_GT3_RSR_scaleautoprofil24 _124_# and when completed with decal artworks it looks convincing to me: http://www.profil24-models.com/images_profil24/voitures_fiches_zoom/p24057_2_z.jpg sportracer02 12-10-2011, 02:25 PM and when completed with decal artworks it looks convincing to me: http://www.profil24-models.com/images_profil24/voitures_fiches_zoom/p24057_2_z.jpg ... as you mentioned, the Profil kit has mistakes, and the model with decals has the same mistakes, obviously the coloured decal take away the attention from the not correct areas of the model Jedi801 12-10-2011, 04:47 PM OK so for the interior and chassis I will go with the Fujimi GT3R. http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ12390 For the body the Scaleauto slot car body. For the wheels it looks like the Hobby Design GT3 wheels. http://www.hlj.com/product/HYDHD03-0145 And for the decals, DecalDoc. http://www.decaldoc.de/0000009f901261702/0000009bb00b1b102/0000009dc40cc1002/0000009f471496209.php Is that it? It looks like the body will need to be modified a bit to be more accurate. lovegt40 12-10-2011, 07:26 PM exactly. If u want a more precise body u must choose the Carrera digital, even if I am sure also with scaleauto u can have a decent replica anyway. Jedi801 12-11-2011, 12:32 PM The Carrera Digital body looks great, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. That ebay auction says he only ships to Germany and I'm in the states. Jedi801 12-13-2011, 11:26 PM These Carrera Digital bodies seem to be all over ebay.de, but I can't seem to find them in any US online shops. Is this a German only part? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Rohkarosse-Porsche-997-GT3-RSR-Carrera-original-D124-/250950142267?pt=Rennbahnen_und_Slotcars&hash=item3a6dcb493b#ht_500wt_1361 John18d 12-14-2011, 02:11 AM Yeah me too - also in the USA looking for that body - anyone have a link?? - Thanks - John Jedi801 12-14-2011, 02:42 PM I got sick of looking so I ordered one from ebay.de. It ended up costing about the same as a compete slot car kit, but this comes unpainted so I went that route. gtziaf 12-15-2011, 09:28 AM These Carrera Digital bodies seem to be all over ebay.de, but I can't seem to find them in any US online shops. I only found the complete slots. Thanks for the advice... Jedi801 12-15-2011, 10:32 AM eyckles 12-15-2011, 10:54 AM Does the slotcar body fits the fujimi kit(street version)? Lesley Jedi801 12-15-2011, 11:53 AM The street version is the kit I bought. I believe the kits are the same though minus the decals. sam01contact 12-15-2011, 01:39 PM Is Profil24 the only company making a kit of this car? Last October, Matt Wells (owner of Scale Motorsport) told me we is developing a transkit to do the 2011 Lizard cars. He even printed ads of this transkit in the Tamiya Model Magazine. You could send him a mail to ask him the status of his transkit. Would the slot car body be very hard to make fit on the Fujimi chassis? The Fujimi chassis need some adjustments to fit the Carrera body, but it is not too hard to do. I have posted my WIP in this link: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=6946182#post6946182 I am using the Fujimi chassis and Carrera body. modeling guy 12-18-2011, 01:44 AM Look at this page... I only hope it's also for the #81 car and the price is fair. Lesley John18d 02-26-2012, 08:38 PM Interesting that someone would take the time for this after I've collected almost all the bits for my #80 and #81 Flying Lizard cars - I'm only waiting on my wheels and bits from Mike at Scale Productions and the PE sets from HLJ - John Robi J 02-28-2012, 03:16 PM Paolo > Yes, it was the Spring Model Expo Lesley > Sorry, I did not explain correctly: the transkit will not include any decals. What shown in the photos is the Decaldoc Flying Lizard set, for exhibition purpose only. Robi John18d 02-28-2012, 04:01 PM Nick - I got my wheels from Mike at ScaleProductions yesterday - WOW these are great and well worth the wait. These wheels and the window frames are my first items from Mike, but they won't be the last as he provides some fantastic bits to detail out a scale replica. Thanks again to you, Sam01 and Duncan for helping me get all my bits together to build the Flying Lizard cars - only waiting on the PE sets from HLJ now. - John Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
