i have a 1998 escort se when i park the car on a slant it leaks gas it has been leaking for about 2 weeks now. The other day i parked it on driveway it is up hill the car would not start so i push it down to a straight surface it started now i see the car is stalling now

could it be fuel pump
gas tank

or something else

I have a 95 that did the leaky deal too. Mine would only leak a small amount if you filled the tank to full. Under a half tank and all was well. The biggest problem I had was that when full it smelled like gas should have been pouring out. Very strong smell. It really leaked more when pumpimg in gas at the pumps. My problem was the flex hose that connects the metal filler to the gas tank itself. Mine was a pain to find, as it was listed as a dealer part. Each end of the hose was a different diameter. I did find one on the 'net but don't remember the site. Might give it a look.

My 96 was leaking gas also. I found the rubber gas hose that connects the tank to the filler nozzle was worn and cranked. I took it off and found one at autozone...
