I am having a problem with my steering. Had a bad u joint so I cahnged both of them from the axel number 6 and 7 oe 7 and 8 think. Anyway there is a ton of play in the steering while driving, quite scarry. I also have a problem when turning hard right. It just started and sounds like something is rubbing like the tire. Any ideas?

I think I found it. Sway bar link.

So, I'M LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. The small ball joint at the bottom of the sway bar link was totally out of sockey and seperated from the stud. No wonder I had such a hard time keeping it on the road. That fixed 85% of the play. Im guessing that I can get the other out from that adjustment I have been reading about.

Question 1. Where is this adjustment screw and what do I need to do to adjust it?

Question 2. I still have a rubbing sound when turning right. Could I have tightened that axel nut up too much when I changed the U joint? Would that cause the sound? Maybe its the bearings?

i would check the ball joints upper and lower rams are famous for wearing them out especialy if you have oversize tires on it... the stabilizer bar end links will make it hande funny but they are not to dangerous just give you body roll also check the inner and outer tie rod ends they and the ball joints are the ones you dont want to break whyle driving also check the track arm bar it is mounted on the body on the drivers side and runs to the drag link it could be worn also....get your check book out also...i will put nothing but moog suspension parts in mine...upper ball joints 54.00 each...lower ball joints 94.00 each....track arm bar 160.00 and that was 2 years ago....good luck...if you dont know how to check the ball joints pm me and i can tell you
