Guzzi Special Café Racer

An Italian forum started the "Café Racer Bikes Contest" and this is my project based on the Tamiya Guzzi Centauro..
I saw a lot of wip about this bike, so I'll try doing something different..

I started the model removing the rear swingarm and I've scratched a new one using plasticard and the original hub.


I also cut the fuel tank in the half and I have rebuilt the rear missing part using the tail of an old Honda NSR500.

After that i've modified a rear wheel of the same Honda adapting it to the single arm:grinyes:

These days I scratched the rear mono-shock using the original spring, plasticard,brass, steel and a little copper wire.

I've chose a particular configuration of the rear shock, linked between the swingarm and the frame.

Then I mounted front forks, wheel and handlebars from Honda NSR500

No.. i'll change both.. i'll mount some street tyres stolen from a Yamaha r1..
but if I want to mount them I should modify the rear rim, I must add a thick plasticard all around the rear rim

But the gas tank was too long.. so I cutted it off

I detailed the engine with a lot of thin copper wire.
I scratched a new steering ammo and a new stand using brass, plasticard and steel.

I also modified the light support making it more similar to the real one

Then tire change pit-stop.

However the rear tire was slightly large, so I added a thick plasticard all around the rim. Now I'm able to mount the tire I want!:evillol:

Yes, I hope the next step is colour.. before I've to sand every part and scratch some details.

I scratched a new rear light using plasticard, aluminium foil and steel wire.
I've also added a brass tube on the frame, making it more strong and realistic.

Painting..
I started with a gloss black base on the tank and on the tail.
When it is dry, I'd like to spray alclad chrome on the tank, but on the top of the tank there will be a checkered flag pattern in transparency, so I started painting the chess.
Also I've done the front and rear wheel.
They have been sprayed with matt black and then ts-39 mica red.. Now they seems anodized.:naughty:

I finally painted them with a particular homamade color: it looks like an alclad.

@Sportracer: That adhesive gauze is often used for medical dressings, it's like a bandages tape you can easily find in a pharmacy..
