2001 Saturn LS200 Brake fluid leak and fuel smell

On the front of the firewall, the two brake lines go to the rear of the car, there are 2 "AA battery-sized" fittings on the car. One of them is leaking, a lot. What are these fittings called, where can I get them, and if I can't, can I just run new brake lines without them?

Also, I have a strong fuel smell, and I can't figure out where it's coming from. Any ideas or typical places that fail on this car?

Thank you in advance

I believe the parts you are describing are the rear brake proportioning valves. I imagine any parts store would carry them, or could get them. You do not want to bypass them as they are used to help reduce rear wheel lock up.

As for the fuel smell, inspect all fuel lines and connections for leaks or evidence of leaks.

Thank you for the help. It led me down the right path to find out that they're called residual pressure valves. I'm calling Wilwood tomorrow to check application and part number before I order. I'll post the part number here in case it helps anyone else. http://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderValves.aspx
SSBC also makes them, but that looks just like the one that failed

As far as the fuel leak, I'm stumped. I've been over that car several times...Looks like it's time to "Call the guy". That's why professional technicians are professionals. Thanks for the help.
