93 speedometer

My speedometer has been acting up lately. it has been working backwards, starting from the other side of zero going to eighty at 50mph. If I go slower, the tach goes towards 100 heading to zero. Now if I keep a constant speed of say 40mph, the speedometer will fix itself only to go back to backwards if I go above 50. Is there any ideas out there?
