Hello My brother-in-law brought me a real headache. ITs a 1999 gmc yukon 5.7 with around 100,000 miles. it will only run if you spray starting fluid in the throttle body. its getting 61 lbs of pressure at the fuel valve and it passed a leakdown test. What do i check next? Thanks in advance John ... oh yeah i also checked for codes and there are none.

61 is a little low but it should run, see if the injectors are powered and getting pulse from the pcm.

ok the big connector is a little too confusing for me to figure out which wires to test.. lol I ordered a repair manual so i can hopefully get a wiring schematic and i'll post whatever i find out.

OK! well i got a repair manual and checked my electrical and everything seemed ok. then a buddy stopped in with the same type of vehicle so i decided to check his and compare the results. Well something seemed kinda funny with the fuel pressure test.. so i borrowed another fuel gauge from a friend, and guess what 40 psi fuel pressure when i used his. bit the bullet and bought the 200 dollar fuel pump assembly and voila yukon runs great now! guess i need to throw away my old pressure tester and invest in a new one! lol thanks for the help! John

Heard the faulty issue before, good to hear it's done.
