confused about best thermostat temp rating to get for 91 Accorddderolph 10-02-2011, 08:34 PM I believe my '91 Accord needs a new thermostat. Lately, the engine is slow to war is slow to warm up to normal operating temp. I suspect the thermostat just stays open all the time. I've looked at thermostats on Advance Auto Parts website and on http://www.innerauto.com/ and, in both cases, I found thermostats rated at 180 degrees, 170 degrees, and 195 degrees. How the heck do I determine the correct one to get? Edit: perhaps I should mention my Accord has a 5-speed manual transmission. jeffcoslacker 10-03-2011, 02:54 PM IIRC, the OEM thermostat was 172 F. A 170 or 180 would be fine. Your call, whether you'd like normal operating temp to be just slightly higher or lower than original. The 195 is probably not a good choice. dderolph 10-03-2011, 05:42 PM Thanks. I will avoid a 195 degrees thermostat. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
