1993 EATC Problem

My 93 Towncar A/C is intermittent. Sometimes it works perfect, most times it just blows hot air. Not Working Symptoms: The blend door actuator constantly flip flops making noise under the dash. I can hear the little motor whirring away. This happens even when the display is in the "OFF" mode. I ran the self diagnostic test, and got an 02 code... which is for the blend door actuator (there is no "tracer" running around the display... just a black screen while the test is running). I have the factory service manual (FSM) for 1993. I realize that the system can be flaky due to the sensors it uses to operate, but what is the probability that I need to replace the EATC control (F5PF-18C612-ABSR) instead of the blend door actuator? I see plenty of used ones floating around e.g.- ebay, but where can I get a new EATC control (besides Ford/Lincoln)? I don't want to buy a used one and possibly add to my problems. And... it might not even be EATC module. Advice?

If the code was for a BDA then you've found the problem, the noise behind the dash even with the system off indicates the actuator has gone bad and needs replacing.
Don't waste your money on the module ;)

Thanks... Good point. Dorman has the BDA. I'll order one.
