Could I get one million miles on my Camry?

So far my 02 Camry (2.4L engine) runs just as good as it did new, and I've barely had to do any maintainence on it other than oil changes and occasionally some new tires.. (I've had to replace a battery and get some brake pads replaced, but that's it).

I used Kendall oil (I've heard some engine oils are better or worse than others), I change it about every 3,500 miles, most of my driving is on the highway, and I don't hotrod the car. I just rolled over to 117,000 miles the other day (I'll probably be an old man when it hits a million at the rate I'm going). Do you think I could ever get one million plus miles on this car, or would it probably wear out before then?

Make sure you change the transmission and power steering fluid periodically also. I suggest flushing the brake lines. Keep the antifreeze fresh. You will need Air/Fuel ratio sensors before long. The rear one may signal as a bad cat convertor, but most of the time, it's the air/fuel ratio sensor behind it. The ECM tests the cat convertor function through that sensor.

Good luck on your quest....

Also plastic, rubber, seals, and gaskets will go bad in time.

I was hoping to get 1 million out of my '92. Had it up to 257k, then I wrecked it.

Hope you like driving it because it'll take decades to get to 1 million...as in another 59 years...if you drive 15k miles per year.

Good luck!

I can see it now... 999,999 miles. Watching the odometer to see it turn over, then CRASH!

i have 175k on my 97 camry. it runs strong with no issues, only replaced the starter and thats it, obviously minor parts like pads and rotors have been replaced. 1 million miles is alot, shoot for like 300k or something for now.

That's my biggest question, does the odometer turn over to one million, or would it just stop? I emailed the Toyota website about this question once, and they said when it reaches the maximum number of miles, the odometer would just stop. They failed to mention what that number was...
