Hey guys!

Mine's been on order now for 9 months with Hobbylinc. It'll be arriving with Tamiya's Porsche 961. Now I just have to get a hold of some Rothman's decals. :)

is this gonna have the level of detail as say the 1/12 57 Chevy? if so this will be awesome.

Just got mine yesterday from my local hobby store. That is a big baby.:)

Overall it does look pretty good but I was a little bit disappointed as there is not really more detail than in 1/24 kit and still same problem with most Revell kits: tires too tall and ride height needs correction. Price is really good so I guess it is still a good deal.

Before I actually start building the kit, I am looking for solution on wheels problem. Not easy with this scale...:frown:

I'm a little disappointed in mine. It only comes with white stripes, so if you want to make a factory stock one you can only paint it grabber blue or red. Hopefully someone make a detail kit for it since its begging for more detail.

We have the "after" pics, here's a few shots of what's in the box. I didn't take the sprues out of the bags because I may not build it right away, but gives you an idea of what you get and detail level. Personally I think the bang for the buck should be high. Looks like a fun car to build, and a very reasonable purchase price. Would love to see a few more street cars by Revell, like the new Camaro (would look nice next to the '69) or a Viper, early coupe version would be preferred.

Seems to be an interesting model

I took the liberty to put in front and behind the photos name, so it is easier to look at

:iagree:

I hope there will be upgrades done by companies. As it does need some more detail. Also finding 1/12 scale rims is nearly impossible as no one offers them. :banghead:

For wheels and tires you guys might want to check into some of the R/C stuff out there.

Sorry..... Another giant-sized 10-part kit from Revell.
No thanks, but good luck on your build.
Roy.

Yes..:frown: I have heard whispers on several forums suggesting a detail set may be forthcoming.....Lets hope, hey. :)

And yes also to option wheels... Nothing out there.
I have looked at R/C stuff as Akasha mentioned, but they ALL look way too big on 1/12, as most are 1/10. :frown:
Believe me, I tried everything looking for wheels for my 1/12 Datsun, end result, made my own....
Plus I got some cheap 1/10 drift rims/tyres off eBay for my 1/12 Mazda.....TOO BIG !! :banghead:

BTW, my Mustang arrived today. I'm pretty happy with the contents, thought more detail would be nice, I still think Revell could be on a winner..
Lets hope it DOES do well for them, you never know what could be next.......:smokin:

hey guy's over at ebay i found out that the guy that sells 1/12 torque thruster wheels plans to make some aftermarket resins for the kit. some 19"torque thruster american racing wheels for this would be a hot selling item for a bullit build or the shelby version.

Word is that Matthew Wells of Scale Motorsport is doing a Bullet transkit for this model.

Scale Motorsports transkit for the 1/12 Mustang was displayed at last weeks
IHobby show.

All I want is a decal sheet with all the different stripe colors.I would buy a full Bullitt transkit but what is shown is a wheel kit and some cheesy(for a mustang) carbon decals.A full transkit would be a lot of work and very pricey from SMS.

Here is a photo of the Scale Motorsports 1/12th scale transkit. I took the photo at the I Hobby trade show near Chicago O'hare airport.

Hello buddies,
Any news on this transkit? Also, I got these wheels sets on eBay:

http://www.ebay.es/itm/Resin-1-12-Cragar-S-S-Mag-Wheels-for-Revell-2010-Ford-Shelby-GT500-/260914946460?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3cbfbe219c

Anyone know if there's more extras for the 1/12 GT500?

Thanks,

Edwing

The ScaleMotorsport website just says the transkit is coming soon.

No mention of the wheels that can be seen in the IHobby photo
