New Tires causing more problems?

I just bought new tires for my 04 hyundai elantra and immediately the car drives worse than it ever has before. I took the car back the next day to the tire place and they said the struts feel like they are locked. They also said the struts don't look leaky. I know very little about cars but the struts were working fine with the old tires. I just don't understand how new tires can make the car go from driving fine to bouncing up and down at every bump in the road.

Sounds like you bought some cheap tires. What kind are they?

Sumatra brand tires size 195/60-15 they weren't the cheapest option. Its feels like the springs are taking all the impact of the road while I bounce in my seat. I'm going to have to get it looked at on Monday but I'm debating on taking it to the dealer first just to get their opinion. A mechanic friend of mine told me the struts should last between 60 and 100 thousand miles and I'm right at 80, so it may just be time.

make shure the air pressure is, 32 is ok but look at the sticker on the inside edge of your drivers door for factory specs. I've had more than one set of tires come back with 36 pounds of air and one with 40! that makes it ride like a rock.

I agree, check the tire pressure.... Tires in general will make a difference... But not from a good ride to a rock hard ride...
