2000 Venture tranny shudderbrholcomb 07-07-2011, 08:34 AM I have perused this forum a bit on this problem, specifically hard upshifts and shudder but I haven't seen mention of this being a summer problem. In winter I rarely have the problem. In summer, it takes about 5 minutes for this to kick in. I am going to take it to a tranny shop but can someone give me the list of "cheap repairs to check first" - pinched wire under air filter, MAF sensor, etc? Using the scanner at Oreilly shows a PO742. Also, can anyone give me the "reasonable" price ranges for PCS replace, rebuilding tranny and factory-rebuilt tranny (or maybe new?) so I can know whether I'm being high-balled or not? Thanks! atlfemale 07-07-2011, 06:33 PM I have a 1998 Venture and have the same problem, but was told it is and epc sensor, i rebuilt the transmission last year.....warranty is expired of course.... I am also searching for the same repair, if I have any luck I will pass the information to you thanks danielsatur 07-07-2011, 07:07 PM Focus on the engine 1st, because you need good horse power for a hydraulic transmission to shift proper. atlfemale 07-07-2011, 10:22 PM I replaced the motor in 2007, brholcomb 07-08-2011, 06:23 AM interesting - I also decided to put in a new engine (2010) brholcomb 07-14-2011, 06:22 AM thanks for all the responses (lol) I brought it to a tranny shop and when asked to make a decision I just guessed based on what I thought I had read here. will be picking it up today. did an epc solenoid replace and flush and filter. final bill should be around $700 brholcomb 07-18-2011, 09:12 AM that did it; all smooth now Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
