first car for under 7000?

alright so im 19 and i was dumb in high school and decided to not get a job so deservedly i never got a car.

however i go to school about 300 miles away and i need a car for next year and this summer to get to work. ive always loved cars so i want a relatively nice car but the budget is driving me insane. my mom needs it under 7000 but im splitting the cost so i want something i enjoy to drive like something with a 1.8t but my parents dont trust german cars and its annoying. id also dig any pickup truck.

any input on a relatively cheap car thats pretty fun to drive? some turbo maybe? post any links to sacramento craiglist ads for examples if you dont mind. thanks
