Car cranks up rough idle when out driving car just dies then crank go fo awhile longer then dies again. What sensor would cause this problem I dont know if check engine light indicator is not working but it doesnt come on

Model. Mileage. Service History. Happens only Hot/Cold/always?

If u ask which sensor can do such, MAF. Rpm sensor - only paired with bad TPS.

But who says its a sensor issue? Any supply voltage issue - cutoff - can lure behind dying engine. First things first: swap plugs, wires, cap... also Check issues mentioned in linky below.

It does it when its hot the car is a 96 infiniti i30 have recently changed plugs and wires changed fuel filter thought that was problem. Air flow assembly looked clean when I disconnected to check it.

It has distributor? Cap crack is typical, smone said third cap from shop was ok...

Test drive with MAF disconnected. Will have 2200 rpm ceiling, but no MAF problems will not be there.

Sometimes the self diag gives error code. Test.

Although Nahka is the king of this forum, just wanted to add a MAF can look/appear to be perfect with the eyeball but magic inside may not be happening. (had a bad MAF on my Max) If that is the case buy it anywhere but the dealer, they tried marking mine up >$300.. But don't buy junkyard either.
