i have a 93 ford escort and it tries to start when i push the clutch even though there is no key in the ignition. does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem is? I really need my car back.

My first guess is a bad ignition switch.

I agree its likely a bad ignition switch (the electrical half, not the keylock half), and I sent you a prv msg. with more detail. I have made that same repair on each of my Escorts (all have high mileage).
