replacing fuel pump for 99 astro awd van

dealer tells me my fuel pump is bad and the repair will cost $ 950.50 . tells me the tank and pump are a unit and they both get replaced. can this be true or are they jacking me around ? sounds :screwy: to me.

He's jacking you. Pumps are replaceable separately from the tank. Go somewhere else.

Most shops charge about $650. The pump is only combined with fuel level sending unit, not the tank.

Cut a Door, where the Fuel Pump is , and pull it out yourself...
