Wanting to convert automatic transmission to a standard transmission in my 01 ZR2 Blazer, but can't seem to find any info as a starting point. Surely somebody else has pondered this before, I would appreciate any info!

I am sure it has entered the minds of a lot of people.
But most people after the find out what it takes lose them ideas fast.
Or just deam about it.

Why do you want to change over or what is bad on it ?

It Will take a lot of labor and parts.
Figure up what the parts will cost and the add about 20 hrs labor.

Clutch Bell housing and flywheel and clutch asembley and slay cylinder clutch and brake pedals and gear shifter in floor ,drive shafts and crossmember, standard transmission transpher case and standard transmission,Clutch master cylinder

And do not forget about engine transmission computer system and wiring.

You would be time and money ahead to just trade it off for one with a standard all ready in it.
If you can find a standard.

The reason I'm considering the switch is because I just picked up this truck cheap with a blown transmission. I figure if I'm going to put the time and money into swapping out the transmission, I may as well try and swap it out for a standard.

Would you know what the interchangeability of parts for this might be? I imagine the ECM from any 99+ manual jimmy/blazer would work, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. Are transmission components different between ZR2 and non-ZR2 models? What about scavenging parts from S-10's or other GM trucks?

Standard transmission S-10 would be your best bet other than a standard transmission Blazer.
Best to check with.
The salvage yards have interchange book.
