Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how much I should pay for the replacement of a Fuel Pump for a 2000 Pontiac Montana with around 129,000 miles. This will be the second pump that we have had to replace in the past 20,000 miles.
The local garage wants $620.00 ($500.00 for the part! and $120.00 for labor). My feel is that the labor is reasonable and they are make a fortune marking up the part.
Thanks for any advice. Money is tight.

This web site might help you. http://repairpal.com/
You input info about your vehicle and location then it gives you a range of cost you can expect to find.

about $324.86
If you shop around, you might find it for less.

I've seen the rebuild kits and also the complete units (new and used) on ebay for as little 49 bucks !
Good luck!

Second fuel pump in 20,000 miles?
Are you replacing the pump because the fuel sending unit is haywire? ( Note; The fuel pump and sending unit are one in these vans. )
If so, forget wasting your money and use the odometer or the overhead display to keep track of fuel used.
