My sons 97 Blazer, 2x4, 4.3L V6 would not start today.
He says last night it started but all the dash lights did not come on before it started. A couple of days ago, it took three tries to get it to start.

Today, it would turn over but not start so I took a look at it. edited: I did check the battery and all fuses. All were good.
When I turned the key the following is what happened:
1) the dash lights did not come on (including the MIL)
2) the fuel pump did not come on
3) motor would turn over (fast) so battery & starter are not issue
4) would not start (either no spark or no fuel)

I am thinking the ignition switch needs to be replaced.

What do you folks think??

i'd start with the ign switch, if you're sure all fuses are good. def shows the symptoms of a bad ign switch, and they are certainly know to go bad on the 97's.

let us know how it goes!

Put a test light on your coil pink wire-it should be lit in "run" and in "start" - to prove out you need an ignition switch.
