1932 Ford Rat Rod

I always love looking at these things at car shows so I decided to make one of my own. It's a Revell 32' ford 3 window coupe, looks like a pretty easy kit. So far I have created a custom sun visor, replaced the stock motor with a 440 Charger motor left over from a 2 in 1 kit, chopped the top and made weld lines.
It was my first time doing a chop and weld lines, I tried to make the welds look a little "rough". I am happy with the results.

Got the body painted and weathered today. Gave it a surfacer, put a base coat of flat black, added the rust weathering, and painted the welds silver. I tried adding a pin striping decal I had from another kit but It was too glossy and just didn't look right. :(

Great looking 3 window. I am working on the same kit . I also chopped mine. Opened the doors too. I am using the stock engine block but with a custom intake I made.

When i saw the first pic of the weathering, i said "oh hell..." but then I saw the rest and said, "man that looks awesome!"

I love this style. Keep it up!

I can see why you thought that. lol :lol2:
The first picture was just with a surfacer to give it a rough texture.

Thanks all for the comments.

Sry I havn't updated in a while. I've been busy with school and havn't really had time to upload pics and post them. I have gotten quite a bit done though. Finished the motor, interior, and a few other things. This project is taking alot longer than I thought it would. I've had to pretty much modify every part, if you can't tell by all the plastic shavings, lol.
Its almost done.

Thanks for looking

Dude... I love the F*CK out of that intake... that just looks so cartoonishly awesome, it's like an Ed Roth drawing.

Glad you like it. :grinyes:

I had a regular filter intake to put on it but decided it wasn't crazy enough after putting on the exhaust tips.

The rusty bare metal bodywork looks incredibly realistic - what was done after the black coat of paint?

Can't wait to see more on this project!!!

Thanks, I used a weathering powder I got from my hobby store. It was recommended to me by one of the workers there and it works great. Really easy to use. Just use a paint brush and rub the powder onto the flat black where you want it.
here's a website to where you can get it: http://bragdonent.com/weather.htm
