I have a 1998 F150 and the core support is rotted out and the fan is hitting the fan shroud. Does any one have info on replacing this thing? Does it need to be welded back in?

ok so the mounting...most think radiator when saying core
but you are saying the sides where connected to radiator that
bolts the radiator to body are rotting???
if its to rotten & cant be rewelded/soldered you'll need to replace rad
dont think side brackets are available
maybe a rad shop could help but the radiator isnt too expensive or hard to replace
hope i understood your problem good luck

Some of the core supports will bolt in. Havent looked at your model lately. If I get a chance, I will check manual.

No I'm talking about the frame on which the radiator/condensing units are supported not talting about the radiator it self.No disrespect but someone out there knows what I am talking about. Its connected to the frame of the truck, like a crossmember and the bottom of your radiator/condenser sit on it.

They can either be bolted, riveted or welded in.
