I kinda though head gasket but it is not showing any other signs... what are the odds of this being the LIM gaskets?

it idles fine, not rough, even has plenty of power... for a few minutes... until the coolant gets low

BUT it does over heat after you drive for a few miles... then I checked the coolant and it was almost 3/4 of a gallon low!

also I noticed that the heater works fine for a few seconds, then goes cold...

I HAVE BLEED THE COOLING SYSTEM

turn out the coolant is in the oil pan... with the oil...

ideas please?

should I do a full head gasket set? or just the LIM set?

or should I source a salvage yard engine from like Pick and Pull for around $200

Start with the LIM gaskets since that is a common problem area. When done be sure to flush out the crankcase to get rid of the residual coolant.

I agree with Bob, this issue sounds like a Lower intake manifold issue to me.
