BeatleBaily 02-17-2011, 04:37 PM I ordered a new cat. j cAT 02-17-2011, 05:23 PM I ordered a new cat. did you test out the restricted exhaust which I suggested ? lets say I am correct the exhaust is restricted. the converter has melted down/clogged with carbon. first you must insure the engine is running properly. If your carb or the fuel evap/vent system is defective this can cause the new converter to be damaged by trying to consume all the unburned fuel that this defect may create. I have seen this before. looks like a glowing fire pit! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
