My 95 Buick Lesabre reves high when cold. The error message is TPS high. However, this part is new. What could cause this message if the TPS is OK?

Its common for the pigtail that plugs in to the TPS to go bad. The terminals can get spread out or get a break in the wire. You can buy a replacement one and splice it right in. Thats what I would try first.

If its getting and error for TPS high this mans its seeing too much voltage from the TPS in what it sees as an idle condition... Sounds more like the new TPS is junk..

Did the Old TPS have the exact same problem?
