Everyone who builds small scale models eventually ends up with leftover parts, whether from projects that go wrong or extra-parts that came with the kits. Our spares-box might come in handy to a colleague that accidentally lost a part from his kit but it might also become a source of fun: there are so many parts in there, one might actually be able to build something out of them. This would probably be better placed in sci-fi because my purpose wasn't to build a replica of a given vehicle (look at that engine, would you sit with your back against it?), my objective was to build something nice out of my spares box using these belly tank racers as inspiration. Parts used: -Zhengdefu Mig 31 fuel tank and rear axle -Revell Ju-88 engine, fron axle, front wheels and other bits -Airfix Mosquito exhausts, rear wheels -Airfix Spitfire air intake -Academy Kubelwagen and Jeep engines -Revell Helldiver seat http://fbminisworkbench.blogspot.com/search/label/Belly%20Tank%20Wacky%20Racer%20Hot%20Rod The inspiration: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS76bYSfPJI/AAAAAAAAAX0/Bam_NCJrilc/s1600/dsc00411.jpg http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/1948_Bellytank_Lakester_SCTA_Bonneville_Race_Car_F or_Sale_Front_1.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu6qMH6m8p8&feature=player_embedded First version: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS7ymY1qBqI/AAAAAAAAAXM/dMnnF-Yknx4/s1600/P100111_21.090001.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS7ymm67aKI/AAAAAAAAAXU/WX9YOBmdeKU/s1600/P100111_21.100003.jpg Second version: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS7ym3cMgVI/AAAAAAAAAXc/4e5zD6ZynaU/s1600/P120111_14.420001.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS7ynTBq4QI/AAAAAAAAAXk/34uZ-EU8L84/s1600/800_P130111_09.090002.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TS7ynn0pa4I/AAAAAAAAAXs/MYChQebJNhE/s1600/800_P130111_09.100001.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TTBiUUybJwI/AAAAAAAAAYE/0503RSFzFxw/s1600/P140111_10.060002.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TTBiUpkx9pI/AAAAAAAAAYM/WKHOy-hZ2nc/s1600/P140111_14.340001.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUcy6fy2M4I/AAAAAAAAAZU/v0vAKsBZeVQ/s1600/Imagem+030.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUcy48oTc5I/AAAAAAAAAZM/awqvqoUKBYg/s1600/Imagem+032.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUmxc2QHFDI/AAAAAAAAAZw/iqPJDTLXopc/s1600/P020211_16.060001.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUmxeH5JOnI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/N1u9Ti9gUo0/s1600/P020211_16.590001.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUmxff-mizI/AAAAAAAAAZ4/nK-W2bt0NcM/s1600/P020211_17.280001.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUtR_zTqLWI/AAAAAAAAAbI/E13D4NfTgBg/s1600/Imagem+066.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUtSAuRk48I/AAAAAAAAAbM/abbJRFmwwUQ/s1600/Imagem+068.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GBm1upyRRGs/TUtWNARBMlI/AAAAAAAAAbQ/ulnvD3uUOJc/s1600/Imagem+070.jpg

That looks like it was a very fun project. And to pull it off in 1/72 scale to boot!

cool little model, with the other wheels it looks just like a mud racer.
