Engine sealant

Toyota calls for a fipg black (102) sealant to be used for sealing the oil pan to the block and for several other areas. The stuff is kind of expensive because you have to get it from the dealership. I've also been able to find it on eBay, but it is still kind of high priced because you have to pay shipping. I spoke with someone in the tech. dept. at Permatex today and he told me that two of their products, The Right Stuff and Ultra Grey, would work equally as well for my application. Does anyone have any experience in using either of these products, and if so, did they perform as well as the Toyota product. Thank you for your time and consideration.

FYI...........fipg is the abbreviation for formed in place gasket. I've heard horror stories about using Permatex Ultra Black, so that is not an option.

Apply new sealant to the surface of the oil pan and reinstall the oil pan.
