Found out yesterday that the passenger side axle in my 99 S10 4.3 LS 2WD extended cab is bent. The dealer price is quite high. Calling junkyards they are asking for gear ratio and whether the ring size is 7 or 8 inches. How can I determine this?

there should be a tab on your rear end on one of the bolts or they should be able to tell with vin number.

If you look on the RPO sticker, (in the glove box) and post all RPO's that start with "G", we can tell you the axle size and gear ratio.
