2001 Aurora 3.5V6....85,000miles....I am getting the p0442 code, have reset it many times but keeps coming back....should I buy a new gas cap....was wondering if theres a common issue with this car and the code?

P0422 - EVAP problem
Because of Age/mileage Plastic, rubber, gaskets, and seals go bad.

1) Visual inspect EVAP system.
2) A smoke test is used to pin point leaks in the EVAP system.

Yes - A bad Gas cap, gas cap seal, gas tank neck, and rubber hoses going to the charcoal canister.
