04 denali check engine light out

My 04 denali wont pass emissions as the check engine light is not working. It has no stored codes but state emissions wont pass it without a working check engine light. Any one else had this problem or know where to start on this one?

pull the instrument cluster out and change the bulb.

Is your Check Engine Light coming on when you have the key in the Run position without the engine running? If is not, then yes, the bulb would need to be replaced.
