Finished it up tonight... I happen to love this car especially in its classic colors Guardsman blue with Wimbledon White stripes. I detailed the engine a little with some plug wires and PE bits... The paint is Scalefinishes Guardsman blue followed by OMNI clear coat all polished to perfection. I had to wrestle a bit with the stance and getting the body on correctly.. (Good luck with that turbo monster and that body fitment Andy!! :) )
I added embossing powder for the carpet and just some good old fashion paint detailing on the rest.... The windshield is a bit rakes back too far I think but once it was glued it was not moving and I had to try to hit it perfect upon gluing it to the cleared body.... Its a classic I hope I captured in 1/24 scale... I hope you all agree .... Oh and the rear rollbar is made from .062 solder with PE rings on the bottom....

Looks cool, what kit did you use?
(The ring on the rear rollbar tube seems to be loose?)

Not loose, that ring should be more of an oblong shape since there is such an angle on that back bar... The rings were more of an after thought but I saw them on a 1:1 car and thought they looked cool....
This is the Revell 1/24 kit that was molded in metal flake blue...
Thanks guys!

Very nice cobra. This color combination suits it really well and I love the small details you added.
What did you use to simulate "nuts" on the body and hood?
Thanks.

Nice clean build. I like the little details that you have added that makes this build stand out.
Will you be going to the NNL East in April? If so I hope you bring the Cobra.

Looks great! Cobras are my favorite - I was trying to avoid picking one of these up, but I don't think I'll be able to help myself. I already have two metal 1:24 Cobras sitting around.
I'll probably pick up a couple of the Revells and use the parts from one to fix up the 1:24 Bburago/Maisto blue metallic 427 I have. The engine's simply horrible, and it could use a ton of other stuff as well. Heck, I might build the second chassis and try to drop the metal body on top.
Either way, that's a fantastic job, I hope mine's half as good. Couple of questions on the roll bar - how'd you bend the solder so well, just around a tube of the right size? Did you melt the straight brace to the roll bar at their junction?
Did you add anything other than the bar and rings (any engine detailing), or is it pretty well box-stock other than paint?
