1994 Camry LE 1MZ-FE with Automatic. Transmission only shifts into OD when it is cold, and by that I mean if outside temp is below 50deg. it will shift with no problems for a couple miles and then shifts out of 4th gear and won't shift back. The colder it is outside the farther OD works. I get code of P0773 "Shift Solenoid "E" Electrical". My assumption is that the solenoid malfunctions as it heats up and expands but don't want to tear into it if I don't have to, hoping I am missing something. Please advise.:1zhelp:

It's either the solenoid or the wiring leading to it that is causing the problem. You should be able to replace it without too much trouble...drain the fluid & drop the pan to access them.
