Recently I had to repair the wiring to one of my oxygen sensors because a rodent had eaten though the covering and chewed the wire in half,I was wondering if anyone has ideas on how to deter them from nesting in the engine compartment, because I cleaned a big nest out from the valley under the intake manifold (4.6 v8 ).

I can't think of anything other than running it often. The heat/noise/movement sure will keep them out.

We had a groundhog destroy 15 new cruisers the same way. But we had to replace the entire under hood wiring harness due to the different places it had munched. We have not found anything yet that detwers them. Might call an exterminator to see if they have any ideas.

Have you ever tried google searching? Maybe get a hunting dog. my Chesapeake Bay Retriever was awesome at killing them varmits.

Get some live traps and bait with something very yummy for them. Call Billy the Exterminator or equiv.
