Memory Lead question

Hey guys, thanks for looking,
I have a 1980 Datsun 720 pickup. The original radio was one of those old time radios which had push button presets and a slider to tune the frequency. The guy i bought it from replaced it with a head unit which works well however he told me he didnt connect the memory lead to the battery which means it loses its presets and clock every time i turn the car off. Being that this car is so old I assume that the factory harness does not have a constant power wire from the battery for the memory lead. So my question is what can i do? I was wondering if a direct connection to the battery is an option, and if that works, how would i do this? I imagine a wire from the battery to the memory lead and a fuse in there? Thanks for any help,

Florian

there sould be a const 12V at the fuse block, or you coul;d tap in where the cigarette lighter is

Thanks for the hint. I ended up finding the fuse for the cab light and tying a cable for the memory lead in behind that fuse. Works great now. Thanks!
