Water will roll from the cowl onto engine, run down the ignition buss lines, sneak under your COP cover, and flood the spark plug boss with water.

1) Use a shop vac + hair dryer for clean-up.
2) Dry COP's.
3) Make sure the rubber gasket is good on the COP cover.
4) Use a silcone sealent for the COP cover.
5) Do expecially the rear, were the ignition wires are going into the valve cover.

Is it actually cylinders 1 and 2 (first two on the passenger side nearest the belt) or 4 and 8? It would not be very likely that a cowl leak would make it to the front of the engine and not also impact cylinders 3 or 4.
