I replaced a leaking power steering pump on a 95 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L SOHC. Afterwards, no power steering at idle. I've replaced the pump 5 times, replaced the gear box once, and changed the fluid type. Nothing seems to be working. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I've scanned the troubleshooting and bleeding / flushing procedures from the Isuzu factory service manual. My guess is that the fluid is incorrect or there is air in the system. You should now be able to diagnose the problem.

I've changed the fluid already. Started out with regular power steering fluid. Changed it over to dexron transmission fluid like our mitchell computer told us to at work. Still hasn't helped. I'm replacing the lines now. I don't want to throw parts at it but this honestly has everyone in my shop confused. And there isn't a way to measure how much pressure is coming out of the pump. But when I loosen the hi pressure line, it just seems to run out. And the spec is 1,400 psi. So something isn't adding up.

Well, learned a lesson. We replaced the power steering pump 7 times. The final time fixed the problem. Never Trust Remans! Cardone failed 6 times till we finally got one new from Isuzu.

Thats good news. I'll remember this if I ever need a new power steering pump.
Thanks for the followup.
