i have a 99 GP SE, it has 196,xxx miles. i had the head gasket, and intake gaskets replaced. I drove around for about a week after i had them replaced, then about 400 miles to school, and it worked fine, then i went out the next day and it started but was smoking badly and it smelt like burning coolant so i shut it off. I went out later and it woundn't start. it has spark and is getting gas, but it won't turn over. i know it has a bad cps and maf, but those are the only codes. if anyone know what might be wrong plase let me know. thank you.

3100 or 3800?

when you did the headgasket, was there oil in the water?

So the motor cranks or not? Was the upper intake manifold inspected and/or replaced when the head gaskets were done? Its possible the Upper intake melted and allowed coolant to fill combustion chambers. This could hydrolock a motor and could cause serious issues like bent connecting rods.

If the car doesn't crank, I'd remove the spark plugs and then see if you can crank it over.

this is what I was thinking Tim, but he indicated there was no water in the oil. We'll see if the car turns over or not...

If your coolant level is good, and oil looks good, I'd focus on the CPS and MAF codes. Do you have spark at the plugs?

i replaced the sparks plugs, and it runs now, kind of ruff though. i got another code reader on it and said i have a misfire, how can i fix that.

You have to figure out why its got a multiple cylinder missfire. Low fuel pressure, plugged cat, vacuum leak....
