01' Jetta- Slow crank no start- some help would be nice-

Hello, I have a 2001 Jetta 4dr. 5 speed gasoline NA that i was driving in normal conditions and suddenly had very little acceleration, RPMs went up but not speed so i presumed my clutch just went out and i babied it home. It sat for a couple days after i got it home than it started to crank really slow and not start.
I know the slow cranking could be the cause of the not starting(cam/crank sensors not being happy) but i can't figure out why its cranking slow. the battery is new and the starter is good. also preformed a voltage drop test between starter and battery... looking for any idea's...
