First determine if there is spark at the plug. jamal abdi 10-25-2010, 12:12 PM Jamal, Have you read the 22 previous posts on this thread? First determine if there is spark at the plug. no spak no power being sent to the distributor everything has power my father in law was helping me out we looked over everthing ove r an over when i got it i was told it was juast the timing belt but come to found out it was ok an the coil in the disributor was bad put i new one on still no spark is it the computer Brian R. 10-26-2010, 09:11 AM If there is no power to the distributor, check the 12 v wire to the distributor for continuity. jamal abdi 11-03-2010, 10:37 AM just put a computer on it wont didn`t help jamal abdi 11-03-2010, 10:38 AM how do i now if the wire is good or not good could be something else need help jamal abdi 11-03-2010, 10:45 AM if i fix the wire and it still wont work what else could be is there something stoping the computer to send power to the distributor Bob Campbell 11-03-2010, 10:52 AM I suggest you get "Professional Help". jdmccright 11-03-2010, 11:39 AM I separated this into a different thread since you have a different model year and the previous thread had a resolution. The most typical culprit is a weak ignition coil. It can give a spark and when tested with an ohmmeter it will barely pass, but the spark is too weak to ignite. If this is it, I'd recommend replacing with a Toyota coil...aftermarket ones don't last. The second common culprit is a faulty coolant temperature sensor. The third culprit is also in the distributor, called a condenser...a little barrel-shaped part connected to the left-side ignition coil. If the insulator looks melted, it's probably cooked. Post back if you find the solution. jamal abdi 11-09-2010, 10:39 AM still have ? not spark theres no power to distributer still don`t know wat is stoping the it fromfireing up jamal abdi 11-09-2010, 10:42 AM The RustBuster i did everything u said checked it all over again i think it could be a wire gone bad anybody can help jdmccright 11-09-2010, 11:42 AM Then I would check the 30A AM2 fuse located in the fuse box #2 in the engine compartment along the driver's side. After that, check the igniter for proper ground and operation, also on the driver's side near the firewall, mounted to the inner fender and next to the air filter box. jamal abdi 11-09-2010, 12:01 PM checked all the fuse all have good ground, but stil cant get it everthing has but tthose to things no power to dis so theres no spark jdmccright 11-09-2010, 12:26 PM There is also a 7.5A IGN fuse located behind the coin holder on the driver's side cabin. You can't test fuses for continuity while installed because you also are testing the circuit itself. Testing for ground is not the equivalent to testing the fuse. Check visually and pull it out to test for continuity. Is the "check engine" light on? If so, there may be a problem with the ignition circuit (DTC 14). Check the stickies at the top of this forum to learn how to flash the codes using a jumper wire (download the PDF file for the Generation III Camry 5S-FE engine, named EG1.PDF, and start on page EG1-296 to learn how to read the stored codes). Check this and post back. jamal abdi 11-20-2010, 07:36 PM its up an running man the whole time it was the timing blet it was missing all teeth an went an got the book and got going thanks for all he help Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
