How to remove liner on trunk door?

Hi... any help is appreciated! How do I remove the rigid felt-like liner inside the trunk door? I'm trying to remove it without breaking the black plastic plugs that hold it in place.

I need to remove it because I've got a wiring problem with the electronic release latch, whereby the latch only activates when the trunk door is in the raised position. I think the wiring is causing an open connection when the trunk door is closed/laying flat. Again, thank you in advance!
