Hi yall,
My van is doing great, so I don't get here very often.
My wipers stopped working the other day. Motor turned, crank arm didn't. The pin had fallen out of the unit (I found iton the wiper motor!). I've reassembled everything and it appears to operate properly. I can't quite figure out what holds the pin in place. I assume the spring goes around it, but it looks like it will just drop out. Any ideas, or even better, any diagrams or photos? I hate driving around like Mister Bean with a couple of ropes tied out the windows!

I guess I can answer this by myself! The top plate, which has the wiper arm ball on it, and the bottom plate, which has the parking-stop on it, are held together by a sort of washer that is forced onto the collar of the upper piece which protrudes through the bottom piece. The pin was the mystery! I had taken apart the crank arm in the parking lot at work and carried it into the office. I left the office frustrated at 8 p.m. In the dark parking lot, I noticed a small piece of metal on the ground. It was about 1.5" long, crescent moon shaped and had a hole in it. TA-DA! The missing piece to the puzzle. This piece goes into the space provided in the top plate. The pin, goes from the slot in the bottom plate, through the crescent piece, and into the notch on the top piece. The spring goes around the cam and crescent piece. The pin has to be forced through the crescent piece, which is what keeps it in place! I'll leave this post up. I'll probably be asking the same question next year and will be glad I answered myself.
