2003 Camry wireless entry system problempradeep1 10-27-2010, 10:41 AM I have a 2003 Camry LE. October of last year, both wireless key fobs stopped working within a week of each other. Replaced batteries in both and tried the reprogramming sequence suggested here, did not work. Took it to Toyota dealer - dealer tells me both fobs are defective. Bought new fob and verified that it is working (radio frequency tester at AutoZone). Tried to reprogram new fob and it still does not take. So there is something wrong with the receiver in the car. Do you guys know how much it would cost to fix and if I can do it myself? Thank you. pradeep1 12-29-2010, 11:51 PM Anyone with any thoughts on this? I would like to fix the receiver in the car itself if it is accessible, but I could not find it referenced anywhere in the manuals. ukrkoz 12-30-2010, 02:14 PM pradeep1 01-02-2011, 06:44 PM http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic165999.htm http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126305 Excellent, I'll check it out. ukrkoz 01-02-2011, 06:50 PM give it a good reading. should give you 2 things: receiver location and verified fob learning procedure. all i know about fobs they have to be EXACT match to what you had originally. or they will not work. it's the whole security thing. pradeep1 01-02-2011, 06:57 PM ukrkoz, Thanks for that link. They describe that the wireless receiver is located behind the plate that holds the dimmer and power mirror switch on a 2000 Camry. On a 2003 Camry, the dimmer switch is integrated into the body console and the power window controls are on the arm rest. To the left of the steering wheel, all there is the entrance to the fuse box and also the ashtray, both of which I pulled out and looked at, but I could not see a black cigarette-box shaped wireless receiver. Any other resources to find this elusive receiver? pradeep1 01-02-2011, 07:00 PM give it a good reading. should give you 2 things: receiver location and verified fob learning procedure. all i know about fobs they have to be EXACT match to what you had originally. or they will not work. it's the whole security thing. I have two original (and working FOBs) and one OEM replacement FOB as well. I just gotta find that darned receiver. pradeep1 01-03-2011, 11:54 PM No love for me, ukrkoz? :) Mike Gerber 01-04-2011, 03:31 PM I would just stop by your local dealer and ask one of the techs there. I have done this several times when I had questions. Mike Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
