engine coolant leakbugman742002 09-21-2010, 10:54 PM ok i have a 99 venture and i have a major coolant leak even when the engine is cold all of the coolant ends up in the crank case. has anyone else had the same problems? Airjer_ 09-21-2010, 11:19 PM The intake gasket leaking internally or worse yet another 3.4 liter with head gasket failure! merc81 09-22-2010, 05:37 AM You should look over the older posts--this is THE #1 problem with this van. How many miles? I've fixed 'em, both head gaskets and just manifold gaskets. If you have over 150k miles, I prefer to just replace the engine with a rebuild--solves all the problems for another 150k miles for under $2500. bugman742002 09-22-2010, 01:09 PM i have around 173,000 miles on it. so i should be looking at the intake gaskets then. thank you for yalls help i greatly appreciate it. Airjer_ 09-22-2010, 01:23 PM That would be your call. If you have ran it at all with coolant in the oil I wouldn't bother with anything but replacing the motor. These motors don't like coolant in the oil and although it may sound fine now the damage has already been done and will usually show up within a couple of months. bugman742002 09-22-2010, 01:28 PM luckly we didn't run it after we found the problem i imefeatly drainded the oil and put fresh in it the ran for a few min with out coolant to flush the system out Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
