The plates we have on this truck are the ones my dad had when he registered the truck with when he bought it brand new in 2006 that the dealership did the transfer on. The plates were previously on a 1995 S-10. When he transfered the plates all was well until he went on a hunting trip this last week he got pulled over and given a 200 some dollar ticket. Apparently the vehicles weight is too much for they type of plate he used. My guess is he is useing a standard weight vehicle plate because any thing under 4k lbs I believe is considered a typical passenger car. So my question is how much does the truck weigh and what type of vehicle would this be considered a standard passenger vehicle or a truck and how did that go unnoticed for so long. This truck is driven in Wisconsin.
Try and find a place with a vehicle scale, most places that sell bulk products will have one. They are certified ask for a weight slip and fight the ticket.
