'98 Le Sabre Limited Turn Signal Question

When I was driving my Le Sabre this morning I noticed that my turn signals were not working at all. All other lights were working except (1) reverse bulb was out. I first checked the fuses and the signal fuse was fine. I checked each turn signal bulb and each was in working order. It turns out the burned out reverse bulb was actually not burned out. When I pulled it out of it's socket, the bulb globe itself came out. One of the wires was rusted and broken. The socket had a small bit of rust inside but easily cleaned up.

My question then is:

Since all of the turn signal bulbs are OK as is the fuse, would this reverse bulb problem be causing the turn signals to stop working?

No, check voltage to the light sockets if none, could be the flasher or signal switch.

Thanks for the input. I will check that out. Hopefully this problem won't be an expensive fix after all is said and done. :frown:
