oil filters

I'm using Mobil1 in my '02 Camry 4cyl., so I'm looking for a larger filter because of a longer interval, and hoping for a bit more filtration.
Will the 90915-YZZD3 or YZZA3 do it? They look a bit longer online.
I assume they're the same diameter. If they are, does it matter what filter I use?
There was a neat comparison here on AF about Toyota filters some time ago.

There is more to filters than just the capacity of the can. Some filters have an anti-drainback valve in them and some don't. You would have to find out if your current filter and proposed filters have the same characteristics in this regard. Also, of course, the gasket diameter has to be the same to fit the seal surface.

Personally, I don't think the stock filter has to be replaced unless you have a special condition that would require more filter element surface area than is available in the stock filter. What oil change interval are you going to use?

FYI, Toyota filter have a different filter element than the normal paper filters. I believe they have a greater filter surface area than normal.

I went 10K on the last change (Castrol Syntek) with a change of filter at 5K.
I thought that 10,000 is a long haul for what looks like an under-sized filter for that long a time. Oil consumption was barely a pint!
While I'm in here, do you like synthetic trannie fluid. Is the interval extended for trannies also?

I use synthetic ATF exclusively. Since heat is the killer of ATF, and heat affects synthetic oils less, I expect to never need to change my ATF again. I will keep an eye on the color.
