Ok, i have a 99 5.2 dodge ram. Let me start of by saying that when the truck shifts, it shifts perfect. No slipping, the trans is in great shape.

You can drive the truck for about 10-15 minutes and every shift is perfect with no slipping. It seems like once it gets hot is when the problem starts. The truck does not try to shift, The rpms will go about to around 4k, and it will not even try to shift. It does this in all gears, but if you put the truck in neutral when you come to a stop, and then take off it will shift perfect, untill you come to a stop. You have to put the truck in neutral at everylight, or it will not try to shift when it needs to. Im guessing its a solenoid or something electrical, but i dont know where to start.

I had the truck t teched, then i dropped the pan myself, and replaced the filter. Thank you very much in advance

Thanks, Chris

Ok, did a little testing. It will shift under wot even when its acting up. I ordered a govenor pressure solenoid, and sensor.

I guess the solenoid has a little metal screen filter on it, and they get dirty, and need to be replaced. Doing the sensor cause its right next to it, and i dont want to pull the pan a 2nd time if i dont have to.

thanks in advance. Chris

I'm not familiar with your problem but I hope the trans responds favorably to your work.

I did the solenoid, and sensor today. The old solenoid has little screens(filter) on it that is not serviceable according to the doge manual.

It was very nasty. Im pretty confident it was the problem. I drove it about 80 miles this afternoon after the repair, and no issues yet. I think/hope its fixed.

Thanks, Chris
