How do I remove the A/C hoses on a 1995 Ponticac Grand Prix. I need to replace the low presure hose. An aquaintence bought a retrofix kit and tried to twist off the port to replace it with one that come in the kit. I looked at the hose and it seemed the low presure side will not come out of motor compartment very easily. Looking for way to remove it without taking the whole car apart.

There ard 2 low side hoses. The dual flexible manifold line set that bolts to the compressor (one side to accumulator, one side to condensor) and the ridgid line from evaporator to accumulator. Replacement of either is fairly straight forward with the proper tools.
I'm trying to understand why you want to replace them. Are you having a problem with the service port? If that's the case (unusual problem) then you can also charge through the low pressure cut-off switch at the accumulator. The switch is just threaded on.

And I thought the new ends on the retrofit kit were made to screw on top of the ends for the r-12 system.
