This is the Lancia Y. Again this wasn't on offer in the UK yet there are quite a few around, having been brought back from Italy.
I love this little car, so much better looking and more elegant than a Fiesta/Corsa. It's a cool, cheeky little runabout with classy alcantara interiors and perky performance.

cheers
jay

looks like theyre tryin to bring a little bit of the Delta into that front end. Hope they bring the Delta's performance into it aswell.

Well, its reached the end of its life and unfortunately, Lancia didnt make any Integrale style turbo-nutter Y's.

Sorry- but the Y is an awful over-priced car- I find the FIAT Punto to be more for less- but thats just my opinion ;)

the Y has a lot more character, and besides lets not forget its a much older car

Thought I might find CrazayJay here. :D

The Lancia Y is a pretty car and I have seen offers in the newspapers here and the price seems pretty good.

Hello together,

my Lancia Y is now five jears old and I drove already 163.500 Kilometers with the car (!!!). I bought the Lancia in November 1998 with 3 Kilometers on the odometer.

I`m still very hapy about the high quality of this car.

So far I did not have any problems with the car
only the regular maintenance.

I need ca. 6,6 Liters of fuel per 100 Kilometers and the driving costs
are not so expensive like some other cars.

Best Regards from Germany

Guten Tag und Willkommen !! ;)à

Your name seem to be Italian, isn't it ?

Very nice Y, you must be very carefull with your car if you got this high kilometrage! Do you have the Alcantara in it ? Do you expect to replace it soon ?

Hello and good morning Stefanel1,

Thank you for your posting.

> Your name seem to be Italian, isn't it ?

Yes, you are right!
My father was born in italy (Mantova near the lake of Garda),
but he lives here in Germany since 1970. So I have an italian name
and an italian hobby. Unfortunatelly I can`s speak italian, but perhaps
I will learn it in the future on my own.

In my childhood I had never interest to learn the language and
today I repent that very much.

> Very nice Y,

Thank you very much.

> you must be very carefull with your car if you got this high kilometrage!

Yes, I try to do so
(but not always -> we have no speed limits on several parts of our german autobahn !!!)

Like I wrote in my first posting I did not have any problems with the car yet,
I only changed some parts to get the Lancia a bit more individual.

sport chassis:
consisting of better shock absorbers from BeBe and lowering springs
(30 mm) from EIBACH

original Lancia light alloy wheels with PIRELLI tires in the dimension
Pirelli P6000 185/60 R 14 - 82H.

high-grade steel exhaust starting from the catalyst (NOVITEC)

sport air cleaner (BMC Filters) and better spark plugs (NGK)

> Do you have the Alcantara in it ?

Yes, I have.
I like the Alcantara very much, it`s much better than leather in my opinion.

> Do you expect to replace it soon ?

No, I don`t think so. I like my car very much and if it will run for another
two or three years it will be realy great. I`m sure I can reach
200 or even 250.000 kilometers without problems !!! And that is no joke.

The 1.2 l (44 kw / 60 PS) engines from FIAT are very durable.
You only have to consider the oil, the spark plugs and than the engine will run eternal.

O.K. of course it is always important to wait till the engine is warm before you`re going fast.
(at full acceleration)

The other point is:
a new car will be very expensive and at the moment I can`t afford it.

Cordial greetings from Germany

Lake of Garda, so nice ! I love Italy and Italian cars also ! I had a Lancia too before by 156, it was a Delta II 1.6 LE with Alcantara too, indeed, very nice and better than leather when you're driving sporty, but it was not very resistant alas. At 97 000 km (when I sold it), it was already a little bit .... not as new ! ;) And before the Delta.... a Golf III GL, mhhhh, nobody is perfect :D ;) I'll maybe take a Lybra next year, a 406, a 156 or an E46.

165 000 km, it seems to be a lot because your car or another living in Paris, won't do more than 100 000 km !

You're so lucky to have these free speed limit Autobahn ! That's much more smart than in the other European countries.... except Italy again ! ;) and in the USA, it's worse. :(

Engine warm before driving hard, it's the basic law for an Italian car ! ;)

I'll have a look on the site you 've written.

Do you have more pics of your car ?

Hello and good morning Stefanel1,

sorry for my late reply, but on Friday the 01.th of August it was not
possible for me to enter the forum-website.

Perhaps it was an error of our network, because I had several other
problems with the web connection on friday.

> Lake of Garda, so nice !
Oh yes, you are so right. We spend 6 days in italy in July this year and it was wonderfull!

> it was a Delta II 1.6 LE with Alcantara too, indeed, very nice and

How funny! Jears ago, I drove a Lancia Delta (II) 1.6 LE, too.
The car was red and beautifull but unfortunatelly it was not in a good condition at the time I bought it and also at the time I sold it.

I bought the car new (not used) and was very proud but ...

I had very much problems with this Delta: Generator, battery,
ABS-sensors, engine-controller, electrical connection, ABS-controller and so on. I sold the car after only one year. :frown:

> I'll maybe take a Lybra next year
The Lancia Lybra is really a good choice.
But please don`t take the 1.8 litres fuel engine !!!
The V.V.T - System (variable valve timing) used in the 1.8 engine
is very susceptible and makes problems all the time.
The Fiat Barchetta uses the same engine and you can ask every
Barchetta driver about these engine problems.

A better choice are the 2.0, 1.9 jtd or the 2.4 jtd !!!

Do you prefer the Lybra SW or the Limousine?

> You're so lucky to have these free speed limit Autobahn !
Sometimes. Look with a 60 PS Lancia Y, you are not really able
to use this advantage.

My dream car is a Lancia Thema 8.32 and belive me with an 8.32
you are able to use the advantage of no speed limits.
But in "real live" it is only a dream !!!

Of course it will be possible to buy a used Thema.
But the following costs are too expensive !!!
Taxes, insurance, fuel, repairs, maintenance.
Like I said: "only a dream"

Perhaps I`ll get a better job at the end of this year (???)
and if this will happen ...
... perhaps I have the possibility to save some money for a new Lancia.

And than I will buy a Lancia STILNOVO:

I can send you the pictures by mail because I have no web space to upload the pictures.

I had the Delta of 1995 with ony 75hp, no ABS. I had no problems in 25 000 km. Some cars have many problems, the best is to sell ot quickly ! :(

I tried a Lybra 1.8 LX this afternoon, it' a good car, but not enough sporty compared to the 156, which is though, not a real sport car. The Lybra is very comfy, with good suspensions, nice engine "noise", nice interior, with alcantara, multi fonctions panel, etc.
I like the SW very much, but the sedan is nice too.

he he ! the Théma 8.32 ! we're in another world !!! but Total, Fina, Shell, etc. will be happy if you buy this car ! ;)
Personnaly, with the 156, I'd like sometimes to overpass the 160kmh, I do it but over this speed, you can get a fine :( that's why in Germany it's much more smart ! But indeed an Y 60hp will be more happy in the towns.

the Stilnovo is nice but, alas, it won't be available before 2006. :(

Hi Stefanel1,

> your mail doesn't work !!!

Of course not !!! :bloated:

Sorry, it was my error.

The Mailadresse is: manuel_simonazzi@web.de

I used a point (dot) between the name by mistake.

But yesterday we had 38 degrees of heat in the office and NO
air conditioning system. Today the weather will become as hot as
yesterday.

It is really not funny to work at such conditions.

Greetings
